Valentine’s Day February 2010
Category: holidaysWe love Valentine’s Day. It’s always romantic and no matter which city we are living in at the time, we find something fun to do and really enjoy each others’ company. This year, we started off with making a nice breakfast at home. Shortly before we got out of bed, someone knocked on our door [...]
Christmas December ‘09 and New Year’s 2010 in NYC
Category: holidaysThis Christmas holiday, Ray’s parents and brother, Eugene, visited us in NYC. They arrived a couple of days before Christmas and it was a wonderful time together. We walked around the city, hung out at Rockefeller Center, saw the big Christmas tree, and the everything was very festive. Many buildings in the Midtown area, especially [...]
Thanksgiving November 2009
Category: holidaysWe have much to be thankful for this year. A lot has happened, starting off with Ray’s work bringing us to New York City, to the experiences we’ve had living here so far, to taking a couple of wonderful vacation trips and then finding out we are expecting our first baby together. We are so [...]
Halloween October 2009
Category: Pocket Creatures, holidaysAs much as we wanted to celebrate Halloween and have a crazy night in town in NYC this year, we reluctantly had to pass up on this opportunity because I just found out earlier that month that I was pregnant. I was told that I had to be extremely careful in the first trimester due [...]
Memorial Day Weekend
Category: Fun Times, holidaysAfter a long two weeks I got a long weekend to relax and enjoy New York with Ash. The weather is really nice and we are both sitting in front of the New York Public library on a sunny warm and breezey Monday afternoon.
Ash is talking to me about fashion and what she can [...]

Sugar Bowl, New Orleans & A New Year
Category: Food, Fun Times, Vacation, holidays, travelAfter Bean left on the New Years eve, Ash, the dogs and I drove to New Orleans. It was our first time there and we, (especially Ash) went there with great hopes that Hawaii would win the Sugar Bowl against University of Georgia. It was an important game for Hawaii as it was [...]
Bean Knows Travel
Category: Atlanta, Family, holidays, travelWell it was a great time having Bean visit and on New Years eve, Bean left to go back to Boston. The trip back however was not an easy one. He faced TWO canceled flights along the way (that’s what you get flying through the mid-west during winter) but, we got through it [...]
Chattanooga Part 2: Rock City
Category: Family, Fun Times, Vacation, holidays, travelAfter Ruby Falls, we drove westward along the mountain range to another Chattanooga attraction called Rock City. Located atop Lookout Mountain, just 6 miles from downtown Chattanooga, Rock City is a true marvel of nature featuring massive ancient rock formations, gardens with over 400 native plant species, and breathtaking “See 7 States” panoramic views.
Our stroll [...]
Bean arrives for a Christmas visit!
Category: Family, Food, Fun Times, Sapient, holidaysAt last Bean is here to visit us. He came in on the evening of Christmas and brought with him many gifts from my parents mostly in the form of delicious Mrs. Peng’s food! He had a long flight from Boston taking him to Chicago first before arriving in Atlanta. These plane routes are ridiculous! [...]
Merry Christmas!

Our Thanksgiving Feast
Category: Food, Fun Times, Pocket Creatures, holidaysAshley and I celebrated our first Thanksgiving here in Atlanta with a feast my mom would be proud of. The spread was a 19 lb turkey with Mrs. Peng’s classic stuffing and gravy, onion and garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, candied yams, biscuits, corn and a dessert of apple and strawberry rhubarb pie.
We invited a [...]

Category: holidaysIt’s not that I don’t know how to spell Christmas, but this was exactly how the people at “Hokkaido”, the restaurant we had dinner at last night, spelled it! It was posted up with this typo all over the restaurant! And let me tell you, that restaurant was huggggggggeeeeeeeee! Can you imagine the typo all [...]
